4 STAR, SILVER AWARD GUEST ACCOMMODATION

I would like to introduce you to our award winning non-smoking establishment, situated on the edge of Tavistock, recently voted the top market town in the country. We are a modern farmhouse, on a working beef and sheep farm of approx 300 acres, rearing 250 cattle, of which most are the pedigree South Devon Beef Cattle, that are sold to the local butcher, and a flock of approx 500 Sheep. Colcharton Farm offers ground floor accommodation of 2 double ensuite bed rooms of which one has a bath and one twin room ensuite, suitable for partially disabled, but not wheel chair users. All rooms are fully equipped with many extras. Bookings can be made by Phone, E Mail or Fax. Credit cards are accepted. We are easily accessible just 300 yards off the main A390 road in a very quiet position, having lovely views of the Dartmoor National Park , which is only 15 minutes drive away.

The farm has clear signage in both directions from the main road, with ample parking and turning space, within close proximity of the front door, which is well lit up with sensor lighting, on a level gravel surface right outside the entrance in the luxury conservatory. Reception is informal, a door bell is for your use, and help with luggage is available to ensure guests have a warm welcome, where they are asked to sign a registration card. All areas are fitted with radio linked smoke alarms, and good lighting is ensured throughout. There is a small step of 3 inches both on the entrance door and from the conservatory into the carpeted hallway , otherwise all rooms are on level ground.

All rooms are lockable, with individual keys for your use, and an entrance key is available if requested. All rooms are standard door width, two bedrooms are carpeted, and one has a laminated wood surface. All rooms are tastefully decorated, colour co-ordinated, with towels provided, shower robes, beverages, TV and many extras All ensuites are wooden floor for hygienic reasons. All beds are standard size and have good quality mattresses and quality linen. There is an antique 1850 oak bedstead in the large double room and the other has a comfortable suede headboard. Lighting is provided either side of the beds in all rooms. The lounge is a spacious carpeted room, with comfortable leather chairs, digital TV , DVD, video and a cosy wood burner for those chilly nights. The dining room has a shared antique large dining table with upholstered Victorian dining chairs on an oak floor, enjoying beautiful views down over the garden. Menus are displayed in the bedrooms, as much local produce is used where possible, special diets are catered for, all served on good quality tableware, glassware and cutlery.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the lovely colourful large garden, which has many seats for your use, a barbecue, dining area, and a trampoline and play area for children. There is a farm trail around the country lanes, which takes approx 15 mins. The local pub, the Harvest Home is within walking distance of 10 mins, shops are 1.5 miles, train staion at Gunnislake 2 miles , and Airport at Plymouth is 15miles.
